Executive Producer of Investigations
KIRO 7 in Seattle is looking for someone who has a passion for investigative reporting to lead our team of experienced reporters as the new executive producer of investigations. We need someone who can put together a strong sweeps plan based on story pitches and then upgrade it during the book.
You should be a great writer, highly organized, a supportive manager, and a terrific team player. The right candidate will understand how to follow a tip by requesting public records and asking tough questions. You should understand how to use social media to create a buzz about an upcoming story, and be skilled at working with promotions producers to identify the value and appeal of each project.
In addition to working on a sweeps plan, you will provide advice to general assignment reporters as they work to break local, enterprise stories.
We would prefer a candidate with previous management experience, but will also consider a top-notch reporter or longtime special projects producer.Qualifications
