Position Summary:

Cox Media Group has a new opportunity for a multi-market Director of Digital Products, who will be responsible for developing the digital strategy and roadmap for its newspapers in Atlanta, GA, West Palm Beach, FL  and Austin, TX, and its newspaper, radio and TV divisions in Dayton, OH. The ideal candidate will be collaborative and innovative leader.  This individual will partner with the editors in each market to ensure the local strategy is in alignment with our digital goals. This individual will provide oversight for our digital execution and key strategic initiatives to include our free and premium digital products. This person will be required to work successfully with other leaders, including audience and sales managers, on strategic initiatives, product development and innovations. Must be a motivational leader who can manage change and engage customers using digital media. This role will report directly to the Multi-market Vice President of Content.

Job Responsibilities:

·Set the digital content strategy and vision across all four markets partnering with newsroom leaders

·Oversee production and distribution of content for digital products across four CMG properties in Atlanta, Austin, Dayton and West Palm Beach

·Establish strategy, management and oversight of Free, Paid, Social, Distribution and Video in each market

·Optimize free and paid audience growth and engagement

  • Work closely with Sales and Audience leadership teams to identify and maximize digital audience and revenue opportunities
  • Drive innovation by bringing knowledge of trends shaping our industry, including awareness of competitors
  • Collaborate with Multi-Market VP’s executive team members in the development and execution of key growth initiatives
  • Oversee performance metrics and accountability measures for digital-first newsrooms

·Partner with CMG Technology and Digital teams to assess the feasibility and tactics of products

·Evaluate and improve efficiency of digital tools and production

·Execute breaking news digital processes and best practices across all of our markets and brands

·Leverage technology to optimize audience for investigative journalism

  • Work with HR to hire, onboard and retain top digital talent for Cox Media Group


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
  • Senior executive with at least 5 -7 years of digital experience
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written and presentation skills
  • Strong, leadership, management and collaborative skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience managing, building teams, mentoring and coaching teams
  • Results-oriented approach to work, with proven track record
  • Ability to motivate employees to ensure excellent individual and team performance
  • Previous content media experience
  • Past success in developing and implementing new processes and building a collaborative environment and making innovative contributions
  • Passionate about the media landscape
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
