Responsible for repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement of all PC’s, servers and network components. This includes all Broadcast specialty servers and components as well. Responsible for all employee network accounts, email, distribution, and coordinated access to corporate systems. Handles design and integration of Broadcast Equipment into the IT infrastructure of the facility and CMG network. Performs all standard Broadcast Engineering duties as well.
25% Day to day end user support for computers and network accounts, maintaining peak operational levels for staff and minimizing any interruptions to station’s operations.
Task1: Assist users with application and hardware issues as needed.
Task2: Log interactions to determine areas where additional training may avoid future productivity issues.
25% End user education and training regarding existing and incoming technology.
Task1: Assess areas where end users are having repeated problems or questions and develop training guides or sessions to better educate them.
Task2: Ensure that each department has the proper information available during new user training or the introduction of new technology, so there are no gaps in the functional knowledge of the staff.
20% Maintaining best practice documentation, inventory and licensing reports, and end of life tables for the facilities IT and IT related Broadcast Equipment.
Task1: Create and maintain guides for the Engineering department covering the use of IT technology in a Broadcast environment, including networking tables, address space, and security permisoning.
Task2: Document all enterprise and standard licensed applications in use and maintain an inventory of this documentation to ensure proper license counts and usage.
Task3: Inventory tracking of all IT based hardware in the facility and end of life estimations for them. Routine assessment of replacement and upgrade needs to be issued to the department heads and incorporated into annual capital evaluations.
10% Daily server audits to assess potential issues and address any service updates that may need to be implemented. This includes both IT and Broadcast systems.
Task1: Daily check of servers for hardware/software status and address any issues that are found.
Task2: Identify and track any recurring issues in order to develop solutions for permanent corrections, including working with vendors to implement new product code.
10% Routine audits of system performance and AD layout to recommend and implement improvements in the equipment and configuration to increase productivity of the facility.
Task1: Track use of email addresses, distribution groups, and security permissions to create a map of effective resource usage and locate points of concern.
Task2: Maintain relations with department heads and general manager to keep them informed of issues and maintain an open dialog of how to implement best practice scenarios into the station workflow.
10% Design and implementation of improvements and additions to the stations IT and Broadcast equipment to integrate new methods and technology into daily operations.
Task1: Coordinate product implementation with the rest of engineering and department heads to ensure the smoothest installation possible.
Task2: Maintain an up to date knowledge of equipment in use at the station, along with new product development, in order to assess areas the can be improved upon and recommend new solutions.
Task3: Take project management duties on as needed to design and integrate new systems into the station and ensure that all members of the staff involved are properly aware of what is happening and how to work with the systems involved.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Associates in a related field.
3 Years minimum IT experience at an administrative level. Should also have at least a year in a related broadcast environment as well.
Be able to move/lift up to 50 lbs. Work under and around furniture and equipment. Apple and Linux support skills and experience.
